The Low-Cost DAT1010 RTD Temperature Transmitter is an RTD Head Mounted Temperature transmitter or sometimes called a Hockey puck temperature Transmitter. It can accept signals from RTD's, mV, Resistance and Potentiometer and convert the signal into a 4-20mA signal. The DAT1010 "in head Mounted Temperature Transmitter" is PC Programmable. The sensor type, range, zero and linearization, is programmable with the Prodat software and the CVPROG programming cable, available from DATEXEL.
The sensor is connected to the input terminals and with the use of a high impedance measuring circuit the signal is ascertained. It is then linearized if needed and converted and scaled to the industrial standard of 4-20mA signal (2 Wire device).
The options for the RTD sensor are 2, 3, or 4 wire sensors and can be configured for Pt100, Pt1000, Ni100 or Ni1000 RTD's.
The resistance input range is selectable from 0-200, 0-500, 0-2000 Ω, and for Potentiometers the range of 200 Ω, 500 Ω; or 50K Ω selectable.
The DAT1010 can also accept inputs from mV sensors from the range of -100mV to 700mV with a minimum span of 2 mV.
It is recommended with an RTD input, to use a 3 or 4 wire RTD. This dramatically improves the accuracy of the circuit. There is an option to program the burn out failure alarm on the 4-20mA signal to High (20mA) or Low (4mA) and there is a damping function. The power supply to the Temperature Transmitter has a high range of tolerance and can accept voltage between 10 and 32 Volt. The DAT1010 Temperature-Transmitter is Loop Powered (2 Wire).

The Impedance is determined by the voltage supplied to the power supply. At 32 Vdc the impedance is 1000Ω at 24 Vdc the Impedance is 700Ω and at around 18 Vdc the Impedance is 400Ω
The Diameter is 1.69" and thickness is 0.95". The hole for the thermocouple to be inserted is 0.28". The center to center for the locating screws is 1.3" apart. To connect the programmer remove the plastic cap.
