General Description

The DAT1485 is a Modbus Temperature Transmitter that converts Thermocouples, RTD's Potentiometers, Resistance, and mV to Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII. The DAT1485 is head-mounted and designed to fit into a DIN B head mounting enclosure. The sensor input, power supply, and the Modbus output are isolated from each other.
The DAT1485 Modbus Temperature Transmitter is PC programmable using the RS485 port and the Datexel software, which is free. The communication protocols are selectable such as Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII, Modbus parity, Baud rate, and the stop bits. The input is also selectable, and has three different ranges for mV. The ranges are -100mV to 90 mV, -100mV to 200mV, and -100mV to 800mV. The different types of Thermocouples are K Type, J Type, R Type, S Type, T Type, B Type, E Type, and N-Type. The different types of RTD are Pt100, PT1000, Ni100, and NI1000 2 wire RTD or 3 wire RTD. The DAT1485 also can select the range of 500 Ohm or 2000 Ohm resistor input and 500 ohm and 50 kohm potentiometers. For the temperature input, you have the choice of ℉ ℃ or Kelvin. The sensor inputs are linearized for Thermocouples and RTD's.
The sensor inputs are linearized for Thermocouples and RTD's.

Applications Frequently Asked Questions
Does the DAT1485 measure temperature in Fahrenheit?
Yes, the DAT1485 can measure in Fahrenheit, Celsius (Centigrade) and Kelvin. The actual measured temperature is located in 40015.
Is the DAT1485 a Modbus Temperature Sensor?.
The DAT1485 converts most temperature sensors into Modbus RTU RS485 or Modbus ASCII RS485. The DAT1485 can convert Thermocouples, RTD, Potentiometer signals to Modbus RTU. It can also convert mV to Modbus RTU and potentiometer to Modbus RTU.
Can the DAT1485 read in Modbus TCP?
In combination with the DAT3580GW the DAT1485 can and indicate the temperature reading in Modbus TCP. Connect the Modbus RTU to the input of the DAT3580GW and the DAT3580GW will convert the signal to Modbus TCP.
