General Description

The DAT5024AO Process Limit Alarm with dual relays and analog output is a versatile and programmable signal monitoring device. Unlike the DAT5024P, this model includes both relay outputs and an additional analog output, making it ideal for applications requiring both trip functionality and continuous signal retransmission.

With a universal input, the DAT5024AO can be configured to accept thermocouples, RTDs, resistance, current (mA), voltage, and millivolt signals. Outputs include two independent SPDT relays rated 2 A at 250 VAC or 2 A at 30 VDC, along with an analog output that can be configured for either voltage or current (active or passive).

The hysteresis is programmable from 0.5% to 10% of full scale, and the trip delay can be adjusted between 1 and 25 seconds. The trip level can be set from 2% to 98% of the measurement range, providing high flexibility for process monitoring and safety alarms.

Programming can be performed via DIP switches or through PC configuration using the CVPROG cable. When set up with DIP switches, the analog output (e.g., 4–20 mA) corresponds directly to the predefined sensor range on the datasheet, such as –200 to 1300 °C for a K-type thermocouple. Using PC programming, these ranges can be customized to suit application requirements.

Complete galvanic isolation up to 1500 VAC is provided between inputs, outputs, and power supply, ensuring safe operation in industrial environments. This makes the DAT5024AO a cost-effective and flexible solution for both process limit alarms and analog signal retransmission.

Frequently Asked Questions about DAT5024AO

What is the DAT5024AO?
The DAT5024AO is a programmable process limit alarm with dual relays and an additional analog output for signal retransmission.
What types of inputs does it accept?
The device supports thermocouples, RTDs, resistance, current (mA), voltage, and millivolt signals.
What outputs does the DAT5024AO provide?
It provides two SPDT relay outputs rated 2 A at 250 VAC or 2 A at 30 VDC, along with an isolated analog output that can be configured as voltage or current (active or passive).
How is the DAT5024AO configured?
It can be programmed via DIP switches for basic setup or through PC software with the CVPROG cable for custom configuration.
What are the trip settings?
The trip level can be set from 2% to 98% of the input range. Hysteresis is adjustable between 0.5% and 10% of full scale, and delay can be set from 1 to 25 seconds.
Can the relays be used independently?
Yes. Each relay can be set for high or low operation, and both can be configured together for high-high or low-low conditions.
How does the analog output work?
When configured via DIP switches, the analog output (e.g., 4–20 mA) matches the sensor’s standard range (such as –200 to 1300 °C for a K-type thermocouple). With PC programming, the range can be customized to suit the application.
Does the device provide isolation?
Yes. Inputs, outputs, and power supply are isolated up to 1500 VAC for safe and reliable operation in industrial environments.
