General Description

The DAT3580-2W is an isolated serial interface converter between asynchronous RS-232 and RS-485/RS-422 communication lines. It guarantees full galvanic isolation between the power supply, RS-232, and RS-485/RS-422 ports, eliminating ground-loop effects and ensuring reliable operation even in harsh industrial environments.

The device supports both RS-422 full-duplex (4-wire) and RS-485 half-duplex (2-wire) interfaces, with baud rates up to 115.2 kbps. Transmission is asynchronous and transparent — no need to configure protocol, data format, or baud rate. Handshake commands such as RTS/CTS are not required on the RS-232 side.

Designed for DIN rail mounting, the DAT3580-2W features a slim 22.5 mm self-extinguishing enclosure. Removable screw-terminal connections simplify installation, wiring, and device replacement. Multiple units can be mounted side-by-side for high-density applications, depending on thermal dissipation.
