General Description

The DAT2016 is a 2-channel Thermocouple and mV input to Modbus RTU converter engineered for precise temperature and low-level voltage measurement across an RS-485 network. Each input channel is galvanically isolated, supporting a wide selection of thermocouple types such as J, K, T, E, N, R, S, and B, along with mV input ranges for highly sensitive applications.

Communication is handled through the Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII protocol, ensuring reliable integration with PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems. With 1000 Vac isolation between input, supply, and communication circuits, the module ensures excellent noise immunity—critical for thermocouple measurement in electrically harsh industrial environments.

The DAT2016 includes a Watch-Dog timer alarm for system safety, and front-panel LEDs provide visual indication of power, communication activity, and initialization status. The device is remotely configurable via RS-485 for rapid installation and simplified field maintenance. Encased in a 1-module DIN rail enclosure made from self-extinguishing material, the DAT2016 offers a compact and robust solution in compliance with EN-50022 standards.
